Description
An intimate close up of the base of Merriman Falls, in the Quinault Rainforest of Washington's Olympic National Park. The Quinault Rainforest averages about 12 FEET of rain per year. As a result, plants are everywhere, growing on other plants, on rocks, and on you (if you sit still long enough!) All that rain has to drain somewhere, so there are waterfalls everywhere. This is at the base of a ~60 foot drop, as the water corrects back into the stream bed.
