Artist's Description
In Great Sand Dunes National Park, on the western slope of Colorado's Sangre de Christo (Blood of Christ) Mountains, a massive dune field stretches for over 100 square miles. This immense expanse of sand has the marvelous quality of reflecting and enhancing the ambient light which hits it. In cloudy skies, soft, low-contrast contours dominate the view. Conversely, at sunset, the warm rays of the setting sun are offset by the cool shadows from the twilight sky to the east.
About Adam Pender
Adam is a self-taught photographer who started taking pictures on a winter camping trip in northern Minnesota. Now based out of Denver, with frequent travel, his photographic portfolio has been expanded beyond fine art landscapes to include a variety of other subject matter from coast to coast and beyond. His photography continues to be fueled by his love of adventure and exploration, and frequently reflects his unique view of the world around him. He has done limited gallery exhibits, most notably as a "Featured Artist" at The Altitude Gallery in Breckenridge, Colorado.
