On the north shore of Kauai, on the western end of the Hawaiian Islands, the rugged sea cliffs of the Na Pali Coast rise dramatically above the black, wave-battered lava rocks. At sunset looking west, the golden light filters through the mist, enhancing the definition of the cliff shapes receding into the distance.
