Artist's Description

From the remote and inaccessible north rim in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, the rapids of the Gunnison River are visible below the 2500-foot sheer rock walls. Looking almost straight down, the feeling of standing on the brink of an abyss is overpowering, but the walls are so steep that seeing the river requires a perspective from the very edge of the ledge.

Adam Pender

Adam is a self-taught photographer who started taking pictures on a winter camping trip in northern Minnesota. Now based out of Denver, with frequent travel, his photographic portfolio has been expanded beyond fine art landscapes to include a variety of other subject matter from coast to coast and beyond. His photography continues to be fueled by his love of adventure and exploration, and frequently reflects his unique view of the world around him. He has done limited gallery exhibits, most notably as a "Featured Artist" at The Altitude Gallery in Breckenridge, Colorado.
